Copenhagen COP15 Panel Discussion: What happened and what next?

Following the Copenhagen international climate negotiations in December, many people are asking themselves what happens now. Was the Copenhagen conference a failure? What lessons can be drawn from the outcome of the conference? Next time, what should we do more of, what should we do less of?

A panel discussion was hosted by the Environmental Change Institute on Friday 15 January to a full lecture theatre, bringing together ECI expertise as well as two UK journalists, to reflect on the conference and its implications for future climate negotiations.

Panellists included:

Professor Diana Liverman, former Director of the Environmental Change Institute

Professor Yadvinder Malhi,Professor of Ecosystem Science and Director of the Oxford Centre for Tropical Forests

James Painter, a BBC journalist, currently based at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism

Mark Lynas, a freelance writer specialising in climate and author of "Six Degrees: Our future on a hotter planet"?
