It's worth a read the 2-page editorial published by Global Environmental Change in its latest issue. Putz and Redford remark that REDD may contribute to undermine biodiversity and reduce ecosystems complexity if forest management techniques are not applied wisely, particularly in specific ecological contexts. They argue that REDD activities should not be developed without adhering to carbon and forest certification standards.
