Fudan-Tyndall partnership highlighted by PM at UK-China summit

The importance of an environmental collaboration between the the Tyndall Centre and Fudan University in Shanghai was highlighted during the UK-China summit today on 9 November.

China is experiencing a sustained period of rapid economic growth, accompanied by large annual increases in energy demand. Coal continues to dominate the Chinese energy system, and accounts for the majority of new power generation capacity. Demand for imported oil is also increasing sharply.

The Sussex Energy Group within Tyndall Sussex is working with the Laboratory for Low Carbon Energy, Tsinghua University on a collaborative project to investigate low carbon innovation in China.

Postgraduate students are invited to apply for a new British Council programme aimed at helping businesses in the UK and China fight climate change.
