PhD Opportunity: Shipping Emission Modelling

The Tyndall Centre in conjunction with the Sustainable Consumption Institute at The University of Manchester are seeking an interdisciplinary but highly numerate physical sciences/engineering graduate to join a team of researchers investigating low-carbon shipping. The PhD researcher will be expected to develop an emission model for shipping through their understanding of engine technology and propulsion systems. This PhD will form a pivot element of a wider project entitled 'The High Seas' project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Applicants are expected to hold a first class, high 2:1 or masters level degree and eligibility only applies to residents from the UK or EU.

For further details on the project please contact Dr Alice Bows, alice.bows@manchester.ac.uk. To Apply for this PhD apply to the University of Manchester. For further details about the Sustainable Consumption Institute
