Conference Programme now available

Delegate Pack now available

This is an excellent opportunity to tell the wider PhD community engaged in climate change research how your project is finding connections between people, planet and place with a focus on transitions, be they technological, environmental, social or other.

The Conference will be held from Wednesday 3rd April to Friday 5th April 2013

“Climate Transitions: Connecting People, Planet and Place”.

We explicitly encourage papers that discuss interdisciplinary approaches, innovative methodologies and policy application to environmental and social challenges in the context of climate change in a way which is easily understandable for non-specialists.

The broad topics will reflect the four themes of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research:

PhD researchers are involved in cutting-edge, front-line climate change research, yet many have limited opportunities to engage and communicate with their PhD peers. This conference provides the opportunity for delegates to present their research and stimulate discussion, with the aim of receiving critical feedback, forging new research networks and gaining insights from a variety of different perspectives from researchers working within the wider climate change arena.

Interdisciplinary research is a key aspect of the aims and ethos of both the Tyndall Centre and the Sustainable Places Research Institute, and this conference actively encourages researchers from a wide range of climate change related fields to participate. By attending, delegates will benefit from the experience of communicating their work to an audience comprised of researchers from different backgrounds, and will also have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of contemporary debate and research centered around climate change and society. The conference aims to encourage delegates to collaborate with fellow PhD researchers, whilst building relationships and possible future research networks.

The conference is free for delegates to attend (including daytime refreshments, lunch and evening meals), but there is no financial provision for delegate accommodation and travel.
