From March 11 to end Feb 12, I am Visiting Professor at the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), working on innovation aspects of lower carbon energy systems. I will also collaborate with SYKE subsequently, on a project relating to innovation policy for low carbon transport, funded by the Finnish Innovation Funding Agency (Tekes).
In March 2012 I leave Tyndall Manchester and Manchester Institute for innovation Research, where I have been since 2003. I will move to the University of Leeds, to work with the Centre for Integrated Energy Research and the Sustainability Research Institute: http://www.see.leeds.ac.uk/people/p.upham
My research is highly interdisciplinary and is at the interface of non-state actors, energy technologies and climate policy options. Central themes are public opinion, governance, sustainability assessment and innovation. I have published some 35+ peer-reviewed papers in policy domains ranging across aviation, bioenergy, biofuels, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, district heating and soft policy tools such as carbon labeling.
